Please use accessible sources to allow the submission to be more easily reviewed.I tracked down an online version of the source used for the statement that "It is frequently compared to established brands such as Femfresh and Bodyform in trend and consumer health reporting", and it makes no such claim. WooWoo (brand)
[edit]WooWoo is a British company that produces feminine hygiene and personal grooming products. Founded in 2016 by Lucy Anderson, the brand’s range includes intimate washes, hair removal creams, wipes, serums, and supplements. Its products are distributed through UK retailers, international stockists, and online marketplaces.
History
[edit]WooWoo was founded in 2016 by Lucy Anderson, following consumer research into the intimate care market in the United Kingdom.[1] The brand launched its first products in 2018.
In March 2022, WooWoo completed a £750,000 seed funding round. The round was led by a group of female investors, and an all-female board of directors was subsequently appointed.[2][3]
In 2023, WooWoo increased its retail footprint in the UK, with its hair removal creams becoming available in over 800 Boots stores.[4]
Products
[edit]WooWoo’s product line includes:
- pH-balanced intimate washes[5]
- Hair removal creams marketed for sensitive skin[4]
- Cleansing wipes
- Topical gels and serums
- Nutritional supplements related to intimate health
The company states that its formulations are vegan and dermatologically tested.[1]
Distribution
[edit]WooWoo products are available through retailers including Boots and Superdrug in the UK. They are also sold via the company’s own website and international online marketplaces. Following its 2022 funding round, the brand expanded to markets including France, Italy, Germany, Australia, and the United States.[3][6]
Reception
[edit]In April 2022, Beauty Independent reported that WooWoo had secured approximately US $1 million in funding and was preparing to expand into the U.S. via a warehouse in Los Angeles. The article noted that most products were priced under US $15 and identified the brand’s core demographic as consumers aged 18–30 in markets such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Australia.[7]
In May 2024, Happi reported WooWoo’s retail expansion into the United States, noting the brand’s launch in 24 Bluemercury physical stores in the tri-state area and online. The article also referenced WooWoo’s previous retail partnerships with Free People and Anthropologie.[8]
Market research sources describe WooWoo as part of a growing segment of "clean-label" intimate care brands in Western Europe, noting its vegan, pH-balanced formulations and sustainability positioning. It is frequently compared to established brands such as Femfresh and Bodyform in trend and consumer health reporting.[9]
