The company was founded in Brighton[7] on 10 July 2012[4] by Caspar Field, Thomas Bennett and Paul Brooke.

Near the time of when the studio was founded it began a partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment, and was planning to build it's way up gradually.[8]

In July 2017, the company developed That's You! for PlayStation 4,[1] which was their first video game. The same year, they released Knowledge Is Power.

A year later in November, they developed Knowledge Is Power: Decades[9], which would be their final game.

In February 2019, Wish Studios announced they were shutting down,[10] CEO Caspar Field stated "We are deeply saddened at having to close Wish, after six-and-a-half years of making great games".[5]
