Vishala Sri-Pathma is a broadcaster and journalist. She has anchored programmes for BBC News television and radio.

Early life

Sri-Pathma was born to Sri-Lankan Tamil immigrants and brought up in Kingston upon Thames. She was educated at a state-grammar school, James Allen's Girls' School in Cheam Village and read Economics at the University of Surrey. She worked for the investment bank JP Morgan Chase.

She is married to fellow broadcaster Rob Young.

Broadcasting career

Sri-Pathma has been a broadcaster since 2012. She regularly presents Business Today, and acts a relief presenter on the BBC News Channel, presenting bulletins on BBC One at the weekend.

On BBC World Service radio, she presents World Business Report and Business Matters. She regularly presents 'Marketplace Morning Report from the BBC World Service' on Marketplace on US Public Radio, which is broadcast at 05.50 Eastern Time Zone.
