V. Natraja Mudliar (21 April 1940 - 6 February 2025) was an Indian businessman.
Early life and education
[edit]V. Natraja Mudliar was born to Mr. K. M. V. Veerabadra Mudliar and Pattuammal in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He attended Vellore Government School and completed his education up to the 12th grade. Later, he pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Government College, Vellore. His academic background laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors in business.
Business career
[edit]V. Natraja Mudliar was a prominent entrepreneur best known for his success in the leather and tree bark industries. He became a major player in the business community of Vellore.
In addition to his business ventures, he played an important role in the development of VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology). He worked closely with Dr. G. Viswanathan, the founder of VIT, and contributed to the growth of the institution by assisting in real estate dealings, including land purchases, to support the expansion of VIT. He also helped negotiate land deals for the Sunbeam Higher Secondary School in Vellore.
V. Natraja Mudliar was involved in various business associations, serving as a leader of both the Vellore Business Association and the Vellore Leather Association. His leadership was instrumental in strengthening the local business community, particularly in the leather sector.
Contributions to Education and Public Service: V. Natraja Mudliar was deeply committed to the educational advancement of Vellore. He funded and played a key role in the construction of an auditorium at the Vellore Boys High Secondary School, which was named after him.
He also served as the leader of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in Vellore and as a trustee for the Vellore Government School.
Personal Life: V. Natraja Mudliar married Kasthuri Natrajan, and together they had seven children.

SRK Appu often acknowledged V. Natraja Mudliar's influence and sought his guidance on key decisions. His support for both major political parties in the region helped maintain peaceful administration and foster cooperation between local leaders for the betterment of the city.
