Overview
[edit]THRESHOLD[1] is a manufacturer of visitor badges, identification stickers and visitor management software for schools, hospitals, corporations; any organization with visitors. Their solutions help manage, track, and secure visitor access.
Company History
[edit]Data Management, Inc.[2], dba THRESHOLD, was founded in 1961 by Bob Hincks and his two partners, David deRham and Ralph Wolinski. The business started with simple yet smart bookkeeping systems for small businesses and have evolved and grown to be a recognized world leader in Visitor Management Systems. Bob Hincks’ son, Dan Hincks, assumed full ownership and management in the 1990s.
The company’s growth and evolution were prompted by anticipating small business needs and applying their proprietary label systems technology to create new products for new markets.
The MediTape product group was created in the 1990s to help maintain patient medical records with a simple and accurate way to document critical patient information and test results.
Gift Certificate Central was also developed in the ‘90’s to assist retailers and restaurants with an easy-to-use gift certificate program.
For the last twenty years they have focused on developing simple yet smart visitor management systems that support security protocols and help keep buildings and their people and properties safe.
In January 2019, Data Management, Inc. rebranded to reinforce its commitment to the security industry. Now known as THRESHOLD, the name reflects the company’s expertise in visitor management systems. With the tagline "The gateway to stronger security," THRESHOLD emphasizes its mission: ensuring that only authorized individuals cross the threshold and are properly identified.[3]
In April 2023 THRESHOLD was acquired by Avery Products Corporation.[4] They collaborate with the Avery team to bring the company to the next level, all while keeping a customer-focused, small company culture.

[edit]Visitor Badges and Stickers
THRESHOLD offers many types of visitor badges designed for ease of use and customization. Their expiring badges offer an extra layer of security by providing a clear visual alert that prevents badges from being reused. All of their badges are compatible with most visitor management systems and printers. Accessories are also available for color-coding and wearing options.
Visitor Management Software
THRESHOLD’s software solution allows organizations to efficiently track, log, and manage visitors. Features include pre-registration, visitor ID badge or name tag printing, a flagging system, real-time reporting, and more.
