Tax Consulting South Africa (TCSA) is a professional tax consultancy firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in 2005, the firm provides tax advisory, compliance, tax dispute resolution, and international tax services to individual and corporate clients. TCSA is known for its expertise in expatriate taxation, tax residency matters, and voluntary disclosure programs.

History

[edit]

TCSA was founded by tax professionals seeking to address gaps in the South African tax services market. In 2017, the firm participated in parliamentary discussions on expatriate tax, representing the Expatriate Tax Petition Group alongside Barry Pretorius. The group petitioned against the proposed repeal of Section 10(1)(o)(ii) of the Income Tax Act, which allowed tax exemptions on foreign income for South African residents working abroad.[1]

A survey conducted by the group revealed compliance gaps among expatriates and formed part of the basis for TCSA's continued engagement with the National Treasury and South African Revenue Service (SARS).[2]
