Stockholm Studio Orchestra (SSO) is a Swedish ensemble that specializes in recording string arrangements for music productions across various genres, also featuring winds, brass, percussion, harp and choir. Founded by Swedish violinist, composer and conductor Erik Arvinder, the orchestra provides remote and in-person recording sessions for artists and composers worldwide.

Stockholm Studio Orchestra is housed in IMRSV Music Studios' Dolby Atmos certified studio in Stockholm and provides services in arrangement, orchestra contracting, conducting and recording.[1] The orchestra consists of over 80 musicians[2] and has recorded music for over 2,500 songs as well as films, TV productions and video games with around 200 annual releases.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Stockholm Studio Orchestra was established with the goal of making professional string recordings more accessible to musicians and producers of all budget levels. In an interview with Svenska Artisters och Musikers Intresseorganisation (SAMI), Arvinder discussed the orchestra's mission to democratize access to professional string recordings, stating that "string recordings should not just be for people with money".[10]

The ensemble specializes in a wide range of musical genres including pop, film music, and classical compositions.

Stockholm Studio Orchestra has collaborated with numerous international artists and composers across the music industry. Their work appears on recordings by renowned artists in the pop and film music sectors.[4] Conducted by Erik Arvinder, Stockholm Studio Orchestra has completed a range of projects including collaborations with Lady Gaga, Avicii, David Guetta, Dolly Parton, James Arthur, Axwell & Ingrosso and Childish Gambino as well as the Netflix production Chef's Table and Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingssons's documentary The Last Journey (Den Sista Resan).
