Draft:Skulliness

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Skulliness is an a set of emojis that was created in 2024 with the goal of describing something weird, funny, goofy or stupid.[1]

History

[edit]

Since of 2016[2], the "skull" emoji had been used as an Internet meme to describe something that is goofy or funny. It has later been used for things that are weird or generally not smart, stupid. Later, the "skull and crossbones" emoji had also been used with the same purpose as the skull emoji. It is notable that the skull and skull and crossbones emoji are opinions, meaning that a skull or skull and crossbones emoji doesn't generally mean something is funny, goofy, stupid or weird, it simply implies that whoever used it on something thinks something is funny, goofy, stupid or weird, depending on their purpose of reacting the emoji.

The term "skulliness" was coined by a person on the internet named Aquafish in 2024 to improve the skull emoji meme[3]. It was instead a set of emojis, with the more emojis from the set used, the more the user thinks it is weird / funny. Skulliness contained the old meme's definition: it still implied an opinion of the user's of something is funny, weird, goofy or stupid, but now it was a set instead of two specific emojis. It was later influenced by a person on the internet named lolol.

Later in 2024, the term "skullish" had been used to describe that something is worthy of skulliness: funny, weird, goofy or stupid. After, the term "max skullish" had been used to refer to something of maximal possible skulliness.

In late 2024, skulliness had evolved into skullfulness, which used more sets of emojis than just skulliness. It has been used for things that are so skullish, they are even more skullish than what traditional skulliness means.

In mid 2025, Aquafish released the official skulliness guide on YouTube. It explained skulliness, skullish and their purposes and meanings, emojis used in the sets.
