SE Labs is a British independent organisation that tests and assesses cyber security software and services. It regularly releases reports.[1] that are freely available to the public and the media[2][3].

SE Labs issues relevant awards, based on the products' comprehensive performance according to multiple testing criteria[4]. It is a member of the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization (AMTSO)[5].

Certification from SE Labs, or a number of alternative testing organizations, is required to join the Microsoft Virus Initiative[6]

Its CEO Simon Edwards was a founder member of AMTSO[7] and a Board member until 2024[8]. He was previously Technical Director of Dennis Technology Labs, where he designed the first anti-APT test and presented results[9]; and wrote a seminal paper on anti-virus testing[10].
