ROVA Roșiori de Vede was a football club based in Roșiorii de Vede, Teleorman County, Romania. The club was founded in the 1970s and played in the lower divisions of Romanian football, including Divizia C and Divizia B.
In the 1974–1975 season, the team achieved a notable performance by finishing 2nd in Divizia C.[1]
In the 1991–92 season, ROVA Roșiori finished 2nd in Divizia C, missing out on promotion to Divizia B.[2]
The team also had a notable presence in the Cupa României, with its best performance being reaching the Round of 16 in the 1989–1990 season, where they were eliminated by FC Rapid București with a 0–2 scoreline.[3]
In 2008, the club was dissolved, and CS Sporting Roșiori was founded as the unofficial successor of the team, continuing the football tradition of the town.
History
[edit]ROVA Roșiori de Vede was founded in 1973 and had a significant presence in Romanian football. The team competed in Divizia B (second tier of Romanian football) during the 1980–81, 1983–84 and 1984–85 seasons. In the 1980–81 season, they were relegated.[4]
The club continued to participate in the lower divisions until it was dissolved in 2008 due to financial difficulties.[4]
After the dissolution of ROVA Roșiori, a new club, CS Sporting Roșiori, was established in 2008, considered the unofficial successor of ROVA Roșiori.[4]
Stadium
[edit]The club played its home matches at the Stadionul Municipal in Roșiorii de Vede, which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators, including 2,000 seated.[5]

Legacy
[edit]Although ROVA Roșiori de Vede was dissolved in 2008, its legacy continues through CS Sporting Roșiori, which took its place in the local football scene.[4]
