Robert Slevin (born 14 July 1998) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for League of Ireland Premier Division club Galway United.
Club career
[edit]Born in Cork, Slevin began his senior career with Waterford in 2019, making 13 appearances across all competitions.[1] Later that year, he joined Cork City, where he played 11 matches over two seasons.[1] In 2022, he signed with Finn Harps, appearing in 31 matches.[1]
Slevin moved to Galway United in January 2023.[2] In his first season, he made 33 league appearances and scored 5 goals, contributing to the team’s League of Ireland First Division title win in 2023 and earning promotion to the Premier Division.[1] He was named to the PFA Ireland Men's First Division Team of the Year for his performances.[3] In 2024, he played 28 league matches, scoring twice, and helped Galway United achieve the second-best defensive record in the Premier Division, conceding only 29 goals.[4] As of 11 March 2025, he has made 71 appearances and scored 7 goals for Galway United, including 5 league appearances in the 2025 season.[1] On 14 November 2024, Slevin re-signed with Galway United for the 2025 season.[4]
