Radar (stylized in all caps) is a song by American rapper Playboi Carti. It was released on March 14, 2025, as the seventh track from his third studio album, Music. The song was produced by Metro Boomin.[1]

Promotion

[edit]

"Radar" was first previewed during Carti's headlining performance at Rolling Loud Miami 2024, where fans initially referred to the track as "Walk." It was later confirmed to be part of the album Music.[2]

Composition

[edit]

"Radar" features a minimalist trap beat with atmospheric synths and Carti's signature ad-libs. The song's production includes elements reminiscent of Lex Luger's style, with horns and key shifts that evoke early 2010s Atlanta rap.[3]

Critical reception

[edit]

The track received mixed reviews from music critics. The Miscellany News described "Radar" as featuring "weak MIDI horns and a limp beat," suggesting it was one of the less effective instrumentals on the album.[4] Conversely, Beats, Rhymes and Lists interpreted the song as a depiction of an extravagant lifestyle, highlighting themes of opulence and personal fortitude.[5]
