Priya Singh (born 30 August 2000) is an Indian poet, novelist, lyricist, and screenwriter. She gained recognition for her contributions to English poetry and songwriting. Singh has written multiple books, and her works have been discussed in both local and national media.[1]

Early life and education

Priya Singh was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, into a family of professors. She completed her schooling at SJS Public School, Lalganj. While in Class 10, she authored her first poetry book.

She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature from Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU), Lucknow. During her postgraduation, she was awarded a silver medal by the Governor for academic excellence. Her achievements were highlighted by both local and national media.[2][1]

She later pursued a screenwriting course from AAFT University, Noida.

Career

Priya Singh is a registered member of the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS), Mumbai. Her English song "The Snowfall of December" was released in 2019 and performed by UK-based singer Ben Davidson. The song was noted for its popularity during Christmas season in London.[1][3]

Her novel *Babydoll* has been described as feminist-themed and was reported by media as being considered for screen adaptation by Ukiyoto Publishing.[4]

Awards and recognition

Literary style

Singh’s writing blends themes of personal reflection with contemporary social commentary. Some of her poetry has been described as "mirror-style" where lines can be read in reverse, though this style has not yet been widely documented in literary journals.[3]
