Submission declined on 3 July 2025 by Pythoncoder (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Pythoncoder 26 days ago. | ![]() |

History
[edit]PolyAI was founded in 2017 by Nikola Mrkšić, Tsung-Hsien Wen, and Pei-Hao Su, who met doing their PhD work as part of the dialog systems group at University of Cambridge’s Machine Intelligence Lab. They studied under Professor of Information Engineering at the University of Cambridge Steve Young, who currently serves as an advisor for PolyAI.[1]
PolyAI has obtained nearly $120 million in funding from entities such as Amadeus Capital Partners, Passion Capital, Khosla Ventures, Georgian, Hedosophia, and NVentures ([Nvidia’s venture capital arm).[2] [3] [4] [5]
Products
[edit]PolyAI’s AI agents perform digital and over-the-phone customer service tasks for enterprise call centers. Its agents are used in industries such as hospitality, utilities, SaaS, and transportation.[6] [7] [8] [9]
PolyAI’s technology incorporates its patented models, such as ConveRT, a pretraining framework for conversational tasks, and Pheme, a speech synthesis tool[10]. In May 2025, PolyAI announced the release of three proprietary models: Owl, an automatic speech recognition (ASR) tool; Raven, a foundational large language model; and Macaw, a rebranded version of Pheme.[11]
