Submission declined on 8 January 2025 by Theroadislong (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Theroadislong 3 months ago. | ![]() |

Pearson Cycles is a British cycling business established in 1860, recognised by the Guinness World Records[1] as the world's oldest bicycle shop[2]. Located in Sheen, London, the company has been managed by five generations of the Pearson family and has transitioned from a blacksmith's workshop to a cycling retailer.
History
[edit]Pearson Cycles was founded by Tom Pearson in Sutton, Southeast England, in 1860. Originally a blacksmith and ironmonger, Pearson expanded into bicycle manufacturing during the 19th century as bicycles became a popular mode of transport.
By 1889, Tom's son Harry Pearson took over the business and focused on full-time bicycle manufacturing. The company's early designs included the "Endeavour" model.
During World War II, the business was managed by Arthur and Len Pearson, who produced bicycles for domestic use in the UK. In the 1980s, Pearson Cycles achieved 5-star Raleigh dealership status under the leadership of Roger Pearson.
In recent decades, the company expanded its offerings to include bike fitting services and an online retail platform. In 2024, Pearson pivoted[3] to focus exclusively on its own range of bicycles, and by 2025, the company rebranded as Pearson Cycles Ltd, with the Sheen store renamed Forge 1860.
Products
[edit]Pearson Cycles designs and manufactures bicycles for road, gravel, and commuting. Its models often carry names inspired by British culture. The company also operates an online platform for UK and global customers.
