According to reports, Medayedupin's scheme was a sophisticated social engineering tactic that involved emailing disgruntled employees with offers to help them exact revenge on their employers[5]. After his name appeared in the news media, he reportedly received thousands of inquiries from people interested in his idea. [6]
Medayedupin's arrest was a result of an investigation by Abnormal Security in August 2021, which uncovered his alleged involvement in the 'ransom your employer' scheme ⁴ ⁵. [7] [8] [9] [10]
