Submission declined on 12 April 2025 by Gheus (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Ole Kristian T. Dahl (born 14 August 1975, in Trondheim) is a Norwegian bassoonist.[1][2] He is currently professor at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim and principle bassoon of the Oslo Philharmonic.[3][4][5]
Early life and education
[edit]Ole Kristian Dahl grew up in Stavanger and comes from a musical family. His grandfather was a bassoonist and had four sons, all of whom pursued careers in music. The musical scene in Bjergsted, Stavanger, including the music school and concert hall, are amongst influences to his early music development. He inherited his first bassoon from his grandfather.[5] He began playing the bassoon at the age of twelve. He has studied at the University of Stavanger with Robert Rønnes, at the Conservatoire Superieur de Musique Genève with Roger Birnstingl, and at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater, und Medien with Dag Jensen.[3][6][2]
Career
[edit]He won first prize at the CIEN Riddes Schweiz competition in 1998, and has served as principal bassoonist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, and the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne. As a soloist, Dahl has performed with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and the European Union Chamber Orchestra, among others. As a chamber musician, he has been a member of the Zephyr Wind Quintet (comprising the principle winds of WDR) and performed with the Linos Ensemble. He has taught at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, the Folkwang University of the Arts, and was in 2008 awarded professorship at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, where he currently teaches as the successor of Professor Alfred Rinderspacher. Since 2017, Dahl has also been visiting bassoon professor at the Royal College of Music.[1] He has played as guest principle with the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, NDR Hamburg, DSO Berlin, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. Dahl’s passion for teaching has resulted in a high demand for masterclasses all over the world, including in Oslo, Stockholm, Norrköping, Helsinki, RCM London, Guildhall London, Seoul, Bergamo, and Neuss, among others.[3][7][2]
