He was born in Dresden, Germany to Greek parents. He was involved in sports from an early age and from 14 years old he excelled in table tennis. From 1926 to 1929 when he returned to Greece, he took part in many international tournaments across Europe.
He was also a tennis player and a member of the Athens Tennis Club. In the national championship he was second in the men's double in 1935 and 1937, second also was in the mixed in 1938. In table tennis, initially refers to an athlete of the Athens Tennis Club, in 1950 of the club “Outdoor Life”.
In 1920, however, the sport did not exist in Greece. Greece did not have a Federation, so initially going to England to study had no problem playing there ping pong. He won the English championship in 1927, goes to Dresden and in 1931 he becomes a German champion in the simple and doubles while the title in the simple was celebrated next year. The Nazis are annoyed by a foreigner who conquers firsts. He returns to Greece and as an athlete of Panathinaikos, among others skiers, takes part in several sports.
