Nii Atakora Mensah (born 15 May) is a Ghanaian media consultant, digital content strategist, and music industry professional, best known for his work with GhanaMusic.com and MiPROMO Media.[1] With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, he has been instrumental in shaping many top Ghanaian musicians' digital presence and commercial success.

Early life and education

Nii Atakora Mensah began his basic education at Alsyd Academy and Ann’s Preparatory School and continued at Labone Senior High School. After completing high school, he began writing for GhanaMusic.com, marking the start of his career in music media and digital promotion.

Career

As Head of Content Acquisition and development at MiPROMO Media, Mensah was responsible for strategizing and managing digital distribution, campaigns, and monetization across multiple platforms. His work involved supporting the company's growth initiatives and expanding the digital footprint of artists.[2]

MiPROMO Media managed and monetizes YouTube channels for a majority of Ghana’s top musicians and content creators, including Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Empress Gifty, Daddy Lumba, McBrown’s Kitchen, Piesie Esther, RuffTown Records, Kofi Kinaata, and others.[3] Nii Atakora Mensah also oversees digital distribution and monetization strategies, ensuring artists can generate significant revenue from their online presence.[4][5]

He is credited with helping Shatta Wale’s Reign album peak at number 6 on the Billboard World Albums chart. His work has supported the careers of many artists, including Medikal, Wendy Shay, Strongman, Darkovibes, and KelyvnBoy.

In addition to his consulting work, Mensah has organized impactful fan events such as Pappy Kojo’s “Change Ur DP” and the Disturbation album signing for Medikal, both of which achieved notable attendance and social media engagement.

Nii Atakora Mensah is a board member of the 3Music Awards and Ghana Music Awards UK, and serves as an academy member for the Ghana Music Awards.[6] His influence in the industry has been recognized both locally and internationally.
