National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association, R.O.C. (NiEA) was established on May 17, 1972. At its early stage, the association was organized by a group of passionate and young entrepreneurs who received Youth Entrepreneurship Loans granted by the government and successfully started their business.
In 1992, local fellowship associations were gradually established across different counties and cities, enabling members to conveniently participate in startup activities. To recognize outstanding entrepreneurs as role models, NIEA launched "The Role Model of Entrepreneur Award" in 1978, making it the earliest award in Taiwan's business sector to honor successful entrepreneurs. In 1992, the Overseas Entrepreneurial Role Model Award was introduced, becoming the first award dedicated to acknowledging the achievements of entrepreneurs abroad. Today, the NiEA has grown into the longest-established, largest-scale, most-resourced, and most-experienced NPO to support founders in Taiwan, it is deeply connected to local enterprises in Taiwan with 25 branches all over Taiwan in every local city. [1]
Since its establishment, the NiEA has collaborated with government agencies to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, also has developed diversified professional advisory services. Its areas of focus include youth entrepreneurship, digital transformation, Venture Capital, business succession, and regional revitalization.
Organizational Structure
[edit]The organizational structure of NIEA includes the Board of Directors (comprising the President, Vice Presidents, and Directors), the Board of Supervisors (including the Chief Supervisor, Deputy Chief Supervisor, and Supervisors), the Secretary-General, the Secretariat, various Specialized Committees, Regional Chapters, and Group Members.[2]
