Draft:Nathalie Rochefort (neuroscientist)
Submission declined on 5 February 2025 by Scope creep (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. I was hoping to mainspace this, but found it was full social media, and non-rs junk references which I've removed. Never use social links in an academic BLP. It is deeply uncool and well get de-mainspaced. Update the article with proper WP:SECONDARY reference and then ping me.

Comment: Minuette Macon, while there are quite a few video interviews that qualify as potentially reliable primary sources, we need at least 3 secondary sources that provide WP:significant coverage of Rochefort. Instagram doesn't count as reliable, and in the current draft, #4, #7, and #8 need to be consolidated as a single source. I recommend moving the best interviews to the "External links" section at the end of the article, then focusing on the criteria at WP:NACADEMIC to use demonstrate significant coverage in reliable, secondary sourcing that is available. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 19:56, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
Comment: Too much of this is dependent on interviews. Thus the draft's description of NR is overly dependent on what she says about herself. But other than for matters (such as her childhood) that wouldn't contribute to her notability, it should instead be based on what's said by reliable sources that are independent of her. -- Hoary (talk) 01:20, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
Comment: I feel we are too early in Rochefort's career. At present I am not persuaded that she passes WP:NPROF. YouTube and Soundcloud are difficult ask references WP:YOUTUBE may help you to understand this. References must have managerial or editorial oversight and rigour. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:50, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
Comment: Most of the references are giving an error.External links should also be removed or converted to inline citations where appropriate. Greenman (talk) 14:50, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

Dr. Nathalie Rochefort is a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh.[1][2]. She is a recipient of the EMBO Young Investigator Award in 2019 for research contributions to the field of sensory neuroscience[3] and a Women in Neuroscience UK (WiNUK) Award for Leading Researcher in Cognition and Neurodevelopment.[citation needed]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Nathalie grew up in Paris, France.[1] Rochefort earned her undergraduate degree in Life Sciences at the University Paris-Cite in Paris in 1997,a Master's degree in Epistemology at both Sorbonne University and École Normale Supérieure in France, followed by a PhD in a joint program between Sorbonne University in France and Ruhr-Universität-Bochum in Germany.[citation needed]
Career and Research
[edit]Rochefort joined the University of Edinburgh as a Chanellor's Fellow [4][5]at the Centre for Integrative Physiology in 2013. In 2014, she received the Sir Henry Dale Fellowship, funded by the Wellcome Trust and Royal Society. Rochefort leads a laboratory within the Simons Initiative Developing Brain Center focused on understanding neural networking processes in visual information processing and their implications for disorders such as intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders[6].
Rochefort's research demonstrated that restricted caloric intake impacts sensory processing in a sex-specific manner[6][7]. Rochefort was on the team that developed a hair-thin fiber endoscope for studying brain activity[8][9]. She is the chair of the Wellcome Trust Brain and Behavioural Sciences Early-Career Advisory Group[10]
