He is recognized for leading the construction of the Khodaldham Temple Complex in Kagvad and for his significant contributions to social, educational, and healthcare initiatives.
Early Life
[edit]Naresh Patel was born in Gujarat, India, into a Leuva Patel family. He became prominent through his industrial success and his deep involvement in community upliftment projects.
Shree Khodaldham Trust
[edit]As Chairman of the Shree Khodaldham Trust, Patel oversaw the development of the Khodaldham Temple in Kagvad, which was inaugurated in 2017. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Khodiyar Mata, the kuldevi (clan goddess) of the Leuva Patels, and is one of the largest temples of its kind in India.
Under his leadership, the Trust has launched educational scholarships, youth empowerment programs, women's development schemes, and spiritual festivals that attract large participation from the Patidar community worldwide.
Political Neutrality
[edit]In 2022, media reports suggested that Naresh Patel might enter politics ahead of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, with several political parties courting him. After public deliberations and feedback from community members, he announced in June 2022 that he would remain non-political and continue to serve society through the Khodaldham Trust.[1]
Philanthropy
[edit]Naresh Patel has also steered the Trust toward major healthcare initiatives. In December 2023, he announced the foundation of a cancer care hospital under the Trust's banner to provide affordable and quality treatment to cancer patients in Gujarat.[2]
Legacy
[edit]Naresh Patel is widely respected for promoting unity among Patidars, empowering youth and women, and keeping spiritual, educational, and healthcare progress at the center of his mission. His name has become synonymous with Khodaldham and modern Patidar identity.
