The Most restaurant explosion occurred in the U Kojota restaurant in Most, Czech Republic, killing 7 people and injuring 7 more.
Explosion
[edit]It was caused by an exploding pressurized gas cylinder containing propane-butane.[1] An overturned gas heater on the patio likely set the cylinder alight.[2] The police suspect negligence.[3]
The front yard had caught fire.[4]
Victims
[edit]6 people died on the spot and 1 died in hospital of her injuries. She had burns covering 90 percent of her body.[5]
Aftermath
[edit]Firefighters demolished the restaurant's wooden terrace, deeming it structurally unsound. The facade of the house next to the restaurant was burnt by the flames.[6]
The funeral mass for the victims of the explosion was on 17 January at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The mass was open to the general public.[7]
The Most police opened investigations into posts on social media celebrating the explosion.[8]
