Miron Constantinescu (1902–1998) [1] was a Romanian painter and musician known for his figurative and landscape works, active in Romania and Germany.
Early life and education
[edit]Constantinescu studied painting and music at the Bucharest Conservatory and later trained in a master class in Leipzig, Germany.
Career in Romania
[edit]He was a member of the Romanian Union of Fine Artists (Uniunea Artiștilor Plastici din România) for 43 years, participating in national salons from 1938 to 1944 and state exhibitions from 1945 onward. He also exhibited in Berlin, Tokyo, Bern, and Stockholm.
Solo exhibitions in Bucharest
[edit]He held solo exhibitions in 1939, 1941, 1942, 1945, 1948, 1956, 1957, and 1967.
Awards
[edit]He received official recognition in 1941, 1948, 1950, and 1951, and was awarded the Romanian Order of Cultural Merit in 1968.
Later career in Germany
[edit]After emigrating to West Germany in 1977, he exhibited extensively in Bavaria.
