Min Naung is the current Union Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (Myanmar).He was appointed by the State Administration Council on 1 February 2023.He previously served in the Tatmadaw at the rank of Lieutenant General.
Ministry service
[edit]Min Naung is a graduate of Yangon University and a former student of the University Reserve Corps (UTC) of Yangon University.After graduating, he attended the Military Academy (Army) in the 66th week. He rose through the ranks to become the Tactical Commander of Division 55,and in August 2010,he became the Commander of Division 101.In 2011,he was promoted to Brigadier General and served as Commander of the Middle East Command and the North-West Command.In August 2015,he became the Commander of Special Operations Group 4.He was promoted to Lieutenant General after March 2016,and served as the Chief of the Military Inspectorate in 2018 and the Commander of Special Operations Group 5 in July 2019.On 9 November 2020,he retired from the Military Reserve Corps and served as a member of the Military Peace Dialogue Committee.After being appointed as a member of the Tatmadaw Peace Dialogue Committee on 1 February 2021,he also served as the Secretary of the National Unity and Peacemaking Coordination Committee led by Lieutenant General Yar Pyae.On 1 February 2023, he was appointed as the Union Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
