MICAMATION is a Swiss manufacturer of insulation taping machines and bar presses for the electrical industry.
The company is based in Zurich, Switzerland and was founded 1991.[1]
History
[edit]MICAMATION originated from MICAFIL and was separated in 1991. The name MICAMATION originates from the silicate mineral mica as insulation material and automation for automated machinery. In 2017, Micamation was acquired by the Nippon Rika Group, a Japanese industrial company specializing in insulating materials and electrical components.[2]
Technology
[edit]The gantry taping insulation machine uses multi-axis CNC control combined with tape tension and angle control.[3] [4]
The press machinery uses hydraulic controlled force and temperature for compressing and forming the insulation material of coils and bar.[5]
The uniform coverage of insulation material is essential for avoiding corona discharge in electrical fields when high voltage causes ionization of air.[6]
