Luke Kidgell (born 27 March 1996) is an Australian stand-up comedian and social media personality. He is known for his touring comedy shows and for viral videos featuring audience interaction and observational humour.

Career

Kidgell began his comedy career after gaining popularity online through short-form videos on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. His “You Don’t Own Me” series, which features unscripted crowd work, attracted millions of views and helped build a large digital following.[1]

He transitioned into live performance and began touring nationally and internationally. His 2023 stand-up show, *Happy Hour*, was performed in over 14 countries and across more than 200 dates.[2][3] He performed in major venues in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Europe, including The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh.[4]

In 2019, *The Age* profiled Kidgell as a rising figure in digital comedy, describing his transition from online success to live performance as part of a new wave of social media–driven comedians.[5]

Kidgell’s comedy incorporates audience interaction, observational humour, and commentary on everyday social behaviour. His performances often rely on improvisation and unscripted exchanges with audience members.[2]
