Logan Douglas Williams-Owen (born 22 January 2006) is a Gibraltarian footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper for Horbury Town and the Gibraltar U19 national team.


Early years

Logan Williams-Owen started his football with his local team Castleford Town, he was recommended to Manchester City and spent 9 months attending weekly goalkeeping sessions at playing in a number of internal friendly games against local professional club academies sadly he was not able to gain a full time spot in the academy set up, following his release in 2012 he was quickly picked up by City's neighbors Manchester United F.C..

Logan Williams-Owen spent 5 years within the Manchester United F.C. youth system within the junior goalkeeping group he attended weekly sessions and trained at The Cliff and the Trafford Training Centre in Carrington on regular occasions, he represented Manchester United against Burnley and Blackpool at the famous Littleton Road facility. At the start of the 2016-2017 season Logan was offered a 1 year youth academy contract with Doncaster Rovers but decided to turn down the offer and maintain his development and progression with the Manchester based club.

Logan Williams-Owen's involvement with Manchester United came to an end at the close of the 2016-2017 season.

Logan Williams-Owen represented local West Yorkshire sides Knottingley Albion and Tingley Athletic for the remainder of his junior football winning 4 league titles and 2 cup during those remaining years one coming in a Leeds District Cup Final played at Leeds United's Elland Road Stadium in May 2022 at U16 level.


Club career

Horbury Town

Logan Williams-Owen was signed by Horbury Town following a successful trail during the summer of 2023 following a decision to step away from youth football and to look for an opportunity in mens open age football [1].

He was signed initially for the clubs u23 Squad in the 2023-24 season[2] but is registered for the clubs reserves[3] who at that stage played their games at Level 12 (Non League Step 8) of the English football pyramid in West Yorkshire Association Football League Division 1 and first team who were playing their games at Level 10 (Non League Step 6) of the English football pyramid in the Northern Counties East League Division 1[4].

Logan Williams-Owen made his senior football debut for Horbury Town Reserves on Saturday 16th September 2023 playing 90 minutes in the Wakefield District Cup First Round in a 6-2 victory over AFC Sheaf[5].

Logan Williams-Owen made his West Yorkshire Association Football League debut for Horbury Town Reserves in a 2-3 defeat away at Boroughbridge AFC on Saturday 24th February 2024.

Logan Williams-Owen made his Semi Professional and Northern Counties East League debut on Saturday 6th April 2024 in Horbury Town’s 6-3 victory away at Ollerton Town FC[6].

Towards the end of the 2024-25 season Logan Williams-Owen went on a shorty term dual registration basis to Woodkirk Valley with the aim of gaining some first team senior exposure before returning back to Horbury Town.

Woodkirk Valley

During the summer of 2024 and following the disbanding of the reserve side at Horbury Town key decisions needed to be made with priority focus on the need to spend a season time as a number 1 in men’s football playing week in week out, Logan Williams-Owen signed for Woodkirk Valley in the Yorkshire Amateur League (Step 8) with the promise of being the clubs number 1 it meant he would mount up a reasonable return of games playing in all but one of the clubs games in league and cup, only missing the single game whilst away on international duty with Gibraltar in October 2024.

Thackley

In March 2025 Logan Williams-Owen was signed by Thackley whilst seeing out the rest of the season at Woodkirk Valley on a dual registration basis, he signed for Thackley to provide back up to club number 1 Luke Wilson for the season run in and Playoffs.

South Leeds

In July 2025 Logan Williams-Owen was signed by South Leeds and immediately loaned out to sister club Carlton Athletic to gain additional 1st team experience at Step 7 to support bridging the gap between previous club Woodkirk Valley at Step 8 and South Leeds at Step 6, this was in a dual registration basis allowing Williams-Owen to play for both clubs during the 2025-26 season.


International career

Logan Williams-Owen was called up in the summer of 2023 to attend the Gibraltar Under 19's National Team training camp in preparation for the upcoming international friendly against Malta[7], the training camp included unofficial friendly matches against a travelling Chesterfield Academy squad, Logan played 45 minutes of a 3-1 win for Gibraltar followed by another 60 minutes of a 2-0 defeat conceding only once across both games which were both played at Victoria Stadium.

Logan Williams-Owen was called up for the 3-1 friendly defeat to Malta on 5th September 2023[8] during the preparations for this international friendly Logan also played 45 minutes keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 defeat to Gibraltar National League side Europa Point at Victoria Stadium, he featured on the bench for international friendly against Malta which was the final warm up game before the Gibraltar U19 national team selection was made on the travelling squad to Latvia for the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification in Group 2 where they face Norway, Hungary and Latvia in October 2023.

Logan Williams-Owen was named in the 20 man squad for the 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification in Latvia on Friday 6th September[9], Logan played 45 Minutes of the Under 19's pre tournament warm up game against Gibraltar National League side Glacis United

He was named on the bench for the opening group fixture in 2024 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification Group 2[10] on Wednesday 11th October against Norway which ended in a 10-0 defeat[11], he made his international debut on Saturday 14th October in an 6-0 defeat against Hungary at LNK Sporta Parks Riga[12]. After suffering an injury during the Hungary game he was selected on the bench as a precaution for the final group game on Tuesday 17th against hosts Latvia which ended in an 8-0 defeat[13]
