Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno (born August 22, 2004) is a Filipino professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) player. He is best known as the first player to win two MLBB World Championships, doing so with Bren Esports (M2, 2021)[1] and ECHO Philippines (M4, 2023).[2] In 2025, he helped Team Liquid PH win the Mid-Season Cup (MSC), completing a career Grand Slam of all major MLBB titles.[3]

Early life

[edit]

Karl was born in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. He began playing MLBB at age 13 after a friend introduced him to the game. He joined the semi‑pro squad Finesse Solid in 2018, and within a year graduated into the MPL‑level competition as part of SGD Omega's roster.[4]

Career

[edit]

Bren Esports (2020–2021)

[edit]

Karl signed with Bren Esports for MPL PH Season 6 (2020). His standout jungle performances earned Bren the MPL PH championship and, in January 2021, the M2 World Championship—won over Burmese Ghouls in a seven‑game final. KarlTzy was awarded Finals MVP and Group Stage MVP for his standout aggression and clutch decision‑making.[5]

ECHO Philippines (2021–2024)

[edit]

After departing Bren in late 2021, Karl joined ECHO Philippines, leading to renewed success. In early 2023, ECHO swept Blacklist International 4–0 at the M4 World Championship, with Karl becoming the first-ever MLBB player to secure two World Championships.[6]

Team Liquid PH and MSC (2024–present)

[edit]

In mid‑2024, Team Liquid acquired ECHO’s roster, forming Team Liquid PH. At the Esports World Cup‑hosted MSC 2025 in Riyadh, Karl captained the squad to a 4–1 Grand Final victory over SRG.OG, helping them join legendary status as the first team to hold all three major MLBB tournament titles simultaneously.[7]

Player profile

[edit]

Karl is celebrated for his precision jungle clear timings, macro awareness, and clutch mid‑to‑late game leadership. He is widely viewed as a complete jungler and a model of consistency in high-stakes matches. Many new players add “‑Tzy” to their tag in homage to his legacy.
