Kane Elliott (born 19 January 2002) is a British middle-distance runner from Scotland.[1]
Career
[edit]He is a member of Falkirk Victoria Harriers. In June 2018, he set a new Scottish under-17 record running 3.46.84 in the 1500 metres.[2] He won the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships over 1500 metres in Gyor.[3] That year, he was nominated at the Scottish Sports Award for Young Athlete of the Year.[4]
In May 2021, he ran the fastest U20 time over 1500m by a Scottish man for more than 40 years as he ran 3:40.65 in Manchester.[5] In May 2023, he ran under 4 minutes for the mile at the Emsley Carr Mile in Manchester with 3:59.36.[6]
He placed sixth overall in the final of the 1500 metres at the 2024 British Indoor Athletics Championships.[7] In August, he ran a personal best 3:56.11 for the Mile in Stirling.[8] In November 2024, he was named by British Athletics on the Olympic Futures Programme for 2025.[9]
In February 2025 he set a Scottish native indoor record over 1500 metres, running 3:40.75.[10]
