Janis Pugh is a British Filmmaker - writer/director. Her Musical debut feature film Chuck Chuck Baby won two BAFTA Cymru awards in 2024, along with various festival awards. The film earned her critical praise and was selected by Mark Kermode as one of his films of the year. Her previous films have been screened worldwide.
She was born in Fflint, North Wales, and is the youngest of five children. Both parents were strong trade unionist. Pugh sights her upbringing as poor but full of love, fight and music, which very much inspires her work.
