InfinityFree is a web hosting service, formerly known as Grendel Hosting.[1]. Based in the Netherlands[2], it is recognized as one of the leading providers of free web hosting services. Founded in 2012 and later rebranded as InfinityFree[1], the platform has gained popularity for its commitment to offering hosting solutions free of charge.
History
[edit]In 2012, InfinityFree launched its inaugural free web hosting service, known as Grendel Hosting, which operated as a reseller for YouHosting, a brand associated with Hostinger[3]. Just like the current InfinityFree service, Grendel Hosting provided free web hosting[1].
In 2016, YouHosting's encountered significant technical difficulties and was subsequently abandoned by Hostinger. As a result, the owner of Grendel Hosting (now InfinityFree) permanently discontinued Grendel Hosting[4] and transitioned to iFastNet's MyOwnFreeHost free hosting reseller program, which ultimately led to the creation of InfinityFree. Essentially, YouHosting removed its reseller homepage around 2018[5].
Additionally, InfinityFree began promoting a companion brand named XVHOST to offer optional premium upgrades as a reseller for a Hostinger brand. XVHOST provided Premium hosting services and was positioned as an enhanced upgrade from the free service[6].
Divestitures
[edit]During its early years, InfinityFree continued to provide free web hosting while maintaining XVHOST as an optional upgrade for Premium hosting. Over time, the company shifted its primary focus toward sponsoring iFastNet's Premium hosting plans. On July 10, 2024, XVHOST was acquired by SkyNetHosting.Net Inc and fully integrated into its operations. Consequently, InfinityFree now focuses exclusively on its free web hosting model while continuing to sponsor iFastNet's Premium hosting services[7][8].
Services
[edit]InfinityFree offers a range of hosting solutions and related services:
- It provides a free web hosting service and acts as a Reseller for iFastNet's MyOwnFreeHost program[9].
- It offers a free Website builder as a Reseller for the SitePro builder[10]
InfinityFree's sponsor, iFastNet, provides multiple paid hosting packages on its website, divided into the following categories:[11]
- Premium Shared Hosting
- Business Hosting
- VPS Hosting
- Dedicated Hosting
- Domain Registration
