INU – Innovative University of Applied Sciences (commonly abbreviated INU) is a private, state-recognised university of applied sciences based in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It specialises in fully online Bachelor’s programmes, supported by AI-based learning technology and mobile applications.[3]

History

INU was founded in 2022 after receiving concept accreditation from the German Council of Science and Humanities. The university gained state recognition through the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, and all programmes are accredited by the Accreditation Council.[4]

INU currently offers four Bachelor's programmes, all available online in either full-time or part-time study models:[1]

  • B.A. Social Media Management

Learning approach

The university uses a digital teaching model combining asynchronous learning with live online sessions. Students also have access to a 24/7 AI-based learning assistant and the proprietary INU App for studying, managing coursework, and accessing offline materials.[3]

Accreditation

INU is state-recognised, with all study programmes accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) and approved by the German State Central Office for Distance Learning (ZFU). Certain programmes are eligible for federal student aid (BAföG).[4]
