i-Ready is an online educational platform developed by Curriculum Associates. Launched in 2011, it provides tools for diagnostic assessments and personalized instruction in subjects like reading and mathematics.

History

[edit]

i-Ready was initially made in 2011 by Curriculum Associates with the goal to provide fair and reasonable learning for all students.[1]

Studies

[edit]

In a study by the John Hopkins University School of Education, students who did the i-Ready personalized lessons had a higher test score on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS), scoring an average of 5-8 points higher than students who only did the diagnostic. Additionally, students who completed the usage guidelines for 18 weeks and passed over 70% of lessons had 6-17 point gains compared to other students.[2] In anothr study by Georgia State University's Georgia Policy Lab, during the COVID-19 pandemic, showed that students that used it increased their growth on standardized tests more than those who did not.[3]

i-Ready Diagnostic

[edit]

The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions based on the responses of students.[4]

Purpose

[edit]

According to Curriculum Associates, the i-Ready Diagnostic test is designed to help educators by providing meaningful data about the instructional needs of their students and connecting them to i-Ready math and reading instruction that is proven to raise student achievement.[1]
