Foster's Funtime for Imaginary Friends is an upcoming series created by Craig McCracken and produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. The series serves as a reboot for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, but will focus on a new cast and be aimed at preschoolers.
Synopsis
[edit]The beloved Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends will return as an original preschool animated series with a new cast of preschool-aged imaginary friends, promised to be "as silly and playful as the original bunch." A new young group of preschool imaginary friends learns from an immature elder friend, Bloo, who, as in the original, still unintentionally gets things wrong.
Production
[edit]On July 18, 2022, it was announced that Craig McCracken had teamed up again with Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe to produce two new reboots for his original Cartoon Network shows, The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. The Foster's reboot would be preschool themed.
On June 12, 2024, during the Annecy Festival, it was revealed that the series would be titled Foster's Funtime for Imaginary Friends, and a new key art and preview of the show were also shown, confirming the return of Bloo and Madame Foster. The preview clip showed the friends making perfect meal with broccoli, ice cream, cookies, lollipops, popsicle sprinkles, whipped cream and chocolate, strawberry shake and bananas, with Bloo there but not stopping their folly. They declare it a "masterpiece," but all but Bloo end up sick with tummy-ache.
