Farm Arts Collective is a nonprofit devised theatre troupe founded in Damascus, Pennsylvania in 2018 by theater artist Tannis Kowalchuk[2]. Described as "An Agri-Cultural Center for Farming, Art, Food and Ecology," the theater is located on the grounds of Willow Wisp Organic Farm[3].

[edit]Farm Arts Collective founder Tannis Kowalchuk wrote and performs this solo performance using decomposition as a metaphor for life.[4]
Dream on the Farm
[edit]In this decade-long performance cycle focused on climate change, one new play is created annually from 2020-2030.[5]
Dream on the Farm #1: The Extinction Event
[edit]Premiering in August 2020, this play brings the character of Mother Nature to the farm "where she is holding an 'Extinction Event' to warn humans of their destructive and risky behavior on the planet."[6]
Dream on the Farm #2: The Scientists
[edit]Premiering in August 2021, this play follows the journey of two deceased American scientists, Carl Sagan (astronomer) and Lynn Margulis (microbiologist) who are reunited in a boxing ring and challenged to compete to “help save life on the planet.”[7][8]
Dream on the Farm #3: Tavern at the Edge of the World
[edit]Premiering in August 2022, this play is set in the year 2062, on a farm in Northeastern Pennsylvania where the Spider Sisters of Arachne run their tavern as a refuge from a world in crisis from climate disasters.[9]
Dream on the Farm #4: The More Things Change
[edit]Premiering in August 2023, this play follows a multi-generational family who is offered a large sum of money to sell their organic farm to a group of developers who want to turn it into a “bio-diversity” theme park called EcoLand.[10]
Dream on the Farm #5: Conference for Those Still Living
[edit]Premiering in August 2024, this play tells the story of a group of artists, scientists, philosophers, meteorologists, chefs, farmers, and anarchists who are summoned to a climate change retreat.[11]
Dream on the Farm #6: Paradise Lost: Scavenger Hunt
[edit]This play is anticipated to premiere in August 2025.[12]
Alice in Scienceland
[edit]Inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, this children's theater production follows a young student named Alice who falls asleep while studying for her science exam.[13]
Lucy Joseph
[edit]Premiering in 2024, this play is about 19th century gender non-conforming pioneer Lucy Ann Joseph Israel Lobdell, also known as Joseph Lobdell.[14]
