Faria Hossain is a Bangladeshi journalist, playwright, writer, producer, director and talk-show host. In December 1994, the journey of independent drama production began under Bangladesh Television through package dramas. Faria Hossain was the first female producer in that journey. In 1995, she started working with the drama "Abhimaane Anubhavhe" which she wrote, produced and directed herself. Until 2006, she directed more than 30 dramas, telefilms, serials and wrote more than 350 dramas until 2025.

Career
[edit]Faria Hossain is a journalist, playwright, writer, director, producer, talk-show host. She made her debut as a director with the play "Abhimane Anubhavbe" written and produced under the Package Drama. She is the first female director of Bangladesh in this journey. Before that, since 1990, she had been working regularly as a contributor in various weekly Bichitra, biweekly Ananda Bichitra, Daily Bangla, London Daily Bangla. At this time, she was working as one of the workers of Bichitra Eid Fashion, Ananda Bichitra Photo Beauty Contest. After that, she joined TV presenting and program production. Many artists started acting for the first time with Faria Hossain's production. Superstar model Sadia Islam Mou, Tania Ahmed, dancer Ria, Fima, Nazia Haque Orsha and many others. Film actor Ferdous's first play was in Faria Hossain's "Thake Shubh Bhalobash". After starting work as a co-host of a quiz program called Shiropa in 1990 on BTV, he presented many programs on BTV. He planned and wrote all the programs himself. With Channel I, he had two talk shows called “Swapn Orar Din” and “Khola Akash” which were very popular and appreciated in 2012-2013. After that, a 9-episode program with Afzal Hossain and his heroines was shown on TI Screen. In 2004, his novel “Khola Hawaay Urche Ilar Chul” was published by Soomay Publications. Currently, he creates content on expatriate life for Channel I Digital. Regular articles on expatriate life are also published in Prothom Alo. Since his marriage in 2001, he has been living in Texas, America, but he regularly comes to the country every year.
Personal life
[edit]In 2001, Faria Hossain married American expatriate businessman Shafiqul Alam Barkat. Since then, she has been living in Texas, America. Their only child, Saira Alam Labanya, was born in 2007. She holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Dhaka University. No one else in her family is involved in the media.
