Executive Order 14075, officially titled Advancing Equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Individuals, is an executive order that was signed by then U.S. president Joe Biden to implement various protections for LGBTQ+ citizens from various forms of discrimination.[1] Among these protections included:
- Having the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services develop policies to help the states "safeguard and expand" access to healthcare for LGBTQ+ citizens[2]
- Having the U.S. Department of Education develop policies to prioritize the academic success and mental health of LGBTQ+ students[2]
- Having the HHS make public the risks of conversion therapy, which is a range of pseudoscientific practices attempting to "align" an individual's sexuality with traditional cisgender norms.[2]
- Federally funding various programs and organizations which provide counseling to LGBTQ+ individuals[2]
It was overturned by U.S. President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025.[3]
