Egesta Lopçi is an Albanian doctor and advanced nuclear medicine researcher, working at the Humanitas Research Hospital (ICH) in Milan, Italy.[1].

Biography

Dr. Egesta Lopçi was born in Shkodër, Albania to a muslim Albanian family. She attended "28 Nëntori High School" in Shkodër and continued her studies in medicine and surgery, as well as her specialization in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Bologna , Italy, where she also acquired her PhD[1][2]. She has been working at the Humanitas Research Hospital (ICH) since 2011[2][3].

Research

Dr Lopçi´s research focuses on the PET technique for molecular imaging in nuclear oncology with an interest in response assessment and immunotherapy[3]. She is an author of 103 scientific papers, 4 books, and 11 chapters on the discipline of Nuclear Medicine[3].

Awards

In 2017, she obtained the Italian national scientific qualification as Professor in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy[3]. She has also won the EANM Young Authors’ Award as well as the SNMMI 2023 International Best Abstract Award for Italy[4]
