DJ Sackmann (born January 14, 1987) is an American basketball skills trainer and player development coach based in New Jersey. He is known as the head coach of the Lunar Owls BC in Unrivaled[1][2], a professional women's three-on-three basketball league, and for his work since 2012 as a lead trainer with I'm Possible Training.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Sackmann played college basketball at the University of New Haven. During his time there, he contributed to the team while also studying player development strategies and team development approaches.
Professional career
[edit]After playing briefly in Germany, Sackmann returned to the United States to begin his coaching career in North Jersey. In 2012, he joined I'm Possible Training as a lead trainer, where he focuses on basketball skill development.[3] He the founder of HoopStudy, an online player development platform[4][5]. Sackmann joined Unrivaled in 2024 as the head coach of the Lunar Owls BC[1][2], one of the league's six head coaches[6].
Sackmann's training approach emphasizes individual skill development and game-specific movements. He has worked with players at various levels, from youth development to professional athletes.[3]
