Samuel Maunge,[1][2] known professionally as Cleffy, is an emo-rap artist from Sydney, Australia.[3] He's known for his ability to combine indie and R&B elements with pure, genuine emotion. He is described as a creative combination of Juice WRLD and Bon Iver.[4][5][6]

Cleffy mentions his grief and thoughts of suicide in his album, 'Clean sheets, dirty walls'. His recovery is a lesson to people worldwide that it's possible to escape depression.[1]

"One, two, three, four demons knocking at my door

Five, six, seventh day telling me grab my rope"

- Cleffy, 'march 2023'[7]

He also describes his previous drug addictions in his song 'Without drugs I'd be dead'.[8]

Career

[edit]

Cleffy's first album, 'Clean sheets, dirty walls', (released on October 6th 2023) jump-started his career with over 50 million streams. Track #2 of the album, 'Meet you at the Graveyard', quickly grew in popularity on Tiktok, bringing more attention to his Spotify and Apple Music profiles.[9]

'Meet you at the Graveyard' was originally released as a single.[4]

On the first of October 2024, Cleffy was featured on 'SAD (Freestyle)' by Dilly Yung. The song further dives into the idea of escaping depression and being happy again. Unfortunately, this song was removed from all platforms and has no public release of the audio.[10][4]
