Draft:Black by God

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Black by God[1] is a newspaper created by West Virginia Affrilachians and the Black West Virginia community to amplify marginalized voices[2] poet, Crystal Good in 2020 to fill a journalism gap.[3] It provides additional news coverage for Black residents in West Virginia. [4] [5][6] Good has been called “the Social Media Senator for the Digital District Of West Virginia.”[7] Black by God is the only Black-run newspaper in West Virginia.[8] It amplifies stories left out of the dominant narrative.[9] Recently it partnered with Appalachian Voices[10][circular reference] to investigate air quality in the West Virginia Black community.[11] It has been featured in national news outlets such as Yes Magazine.[12] It has both a digital and print version and is free to subscribe.
