Bettyspark Shadow is a Connemara stallion, born in 2017 in County Galway in Ireland.
He was bred by Mrs Audrey O Donnell in Dunblaney Dunmore Galway Ireland.
He was graded as a class 1 stallion by the Connemara Pony society in 2020.
He covered mares at Halston Stud in 2020 and 2021 making him a sire of over 20 Purebred and crossbred fillies and geldings.
He has been competing extremely successfully since he commenced competing in 2022 as a five year old stallion, winning the stallion working hunter class at Clifden Connemara Pony Show, beating older and more experienced stallions, ridden by grown ups, with a fourteen year old rider.
In 2023, he won the Ballinalea Connemara Show, high performance qualifier and reserve working hunter champion at the Midlands Connemara Show.
In 2024 he was one of the most successful ridden stallion on the Connemara showing circuit in Ireland. He won the first qualifier for the Dublin Horseshow Performance Connemara class. And was the only pony who qualified at all qualifiers he attended, coming second in his second qualifier, two weeks later. He did not attend the finals at the Dublin Horsehow.
He won the working hunter championship at Mullingar Agricultural Show and the ridden championship at Tullamore Agricultural Show.
At the end of the season 2024, he was made ridden champion at the Clifden Connemara Show, after winning the ridden Stallion class. He also won Reserve Working Hunter champion after winning the working hunter stallion class and placing second in the High performance working hunter class.
He also started his eventing career in 2024, winning his first unaffiliated event gaining a dressage mark of 19 penalty points at his first unaffiliated event in Killossery
In 2024 he won over €2000 in prize money.
