Belinda Chandra is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, created by Russell T Davies and portrayed by Varada Sethu. In the show's fifteenth series, Belinda serves as the companion to the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa), an incarnation of the alien time traveller known as the Doctor.

[edit]Belinda Chandra is introduced in the 2025 episode "The Robot Revolution". Belinda is first seen in 2008 recieving a gift from her boyfriend Alan, naming a star in the night sky 'Miss Belinda Chandra'. She is next seen 17 years later after a shift at work, where she is kidnapped by robots from the planet Missbelindachandra-1, who proclaim her as their honourary queen.[1]
Casting and development
[edit]Varada Sethu previously portrayed the character of Mundy Flynn in the 2024 episode "Boom". In January 2024, it was reported that Sethu was replacing actress Millie Gibson as the next companion to the Fifteenth Doctor.[2]
