Comment: No context, description of where this is for example, body contains no links, and the first link in the infobox goes to the generic War of succession. Greenman (talk) 13:12, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

The Battle of Rey took place on July 23, 1059;[1] İbrahim Yınal rebelled for the second time and besieged Tughrul in Hemedan. Thereupon, the sons of Çağrı Bey, Alp Arslan, Kavurt and Yakuti,[2] came to rescue Sultan Tughrul and the Battle of Rey took place between the two sides.[3] İbrahim Yınal and his nephews, who lost the battle, were taken prisoner.[4][5]
Prelude
[edit]When news of Ibrahim Yinal's rebellion came while Sultan Tugrul was in Baghdad, the Sultan divided his forces, left some in Baghdad, and marched against Ibrahim Yinal with the others.[6] When he arrived in Hamadan, Ibrahim Yinal, along with his nephews Ahmed and Mehmed, came to support 30,000 Turkmens.[7] When Sultan Tugrul was defeated by his brother Ibrahim Yinal,[8] he took refuge in the Hamedan castle and asked for help from his brother Cagrı Bey.[9]
Battle
[edit]The forces under the command of Çağrı Bey's sons Alp Arslan, Kavurt and Yâkutî came to help Sultan Tuğrul.[10] In the great battle between the two sides near Rey on August 3, 1059,[11] Ibrahim Yinal's army was defeated.[12] Alp Arslan delivered Yinal and Yinal's nephews, whom he had captured, to his uncle Sultan Tugrul.[13]
Aftermath
[edit]Tuğrul ordered the death of İbrahim Yınal and his nephews, who rebelled whenever he had the opportunity and this time posed a serious threat, and had them killed.[14][15]
