Artistic Practice

[edit]

Aya Abu Ghazaleh is a Jordanian visual artist and certified art therapist whose work spans painting, mixed media, book arts, and digital forms. Through symbolic natural elements, archival traces, and personal gestures, she explores themes of memory, land, resistance, and embodied experiences—often drawing from her Palestinian roots. Her practice is grounded in a deep sensitivity to materiality, where oil paint, embroidery, clay, and code become tools for storytelling and healing. In recent years, she has expanded her visual language to include 3D modeling and interactive media, while continuing to engage in socially conscious art rooted in care, inclusion, and accessibility.

Education

[edit]

Abu Ghazaleh received a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the University of Jordan in 2013, graduating with honors. In 2022, she completed a Professional Diploma in Arts Therapy at the University of Jordan, focusing on multidisciplinary creative practices.

She was also part of the first cohort of the Emerging Artist Program (EAP) at Diriyah Art Futures in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.[1]
