Alikhan Zakir oglu Musayev (born February 16, 1973, Baku) is an Azerbaijani Islamic scholar, writer, and translator of the Quran into Azerbaijani.[1][2]

Life and career

Alikhan Musayev was born on February 16, 1973, in a family of intellectuals in Baku.

After Azerbaijan gained independence in 1991, he started studying Islam and traveled to Uzbekistan in early 1992, where he completed the one-year Arabic language course "Mabda al-Qira'ah" in just two months. In 1994, he enrolled at the Islamic University of Medina and studied there for six years.

Since graduating in 2000 and returning to his homeland, he has written books on Islam and translated religious books from Arabic into Azerbaijani. His translation of the Quran was recited by People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Rasim Balayev in 2008,[3] and by Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, Rafiq Hashimov in 2016.

He has participated in seminars, symposiums, and conferences in th.e countries of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE.
