Biography

[edit]

Youth and studies

[edit]

Alexandre Marineli was born in 1986 in Thionville in Moselle.[2]. He developed an early interest in filmmaking and monopolized the family camera by the age of ten. In second grade, he met Thomas Koeune, a sound engineer and partner in Fensch's company, Toast, his filmmaking partner for remaking films. In sixth grade, Renaud Jesionek (the captain of Nexus VI) joined the team.

Alexandre taught himself. In high school, in the tenth grade, he befriended Cyril Chagot (3rd Fensch Toast partner, producer and manager) who already has a production vision.

With his accomplices, he filmed in the summer of 2003 Granini Palmtree[3] (45’ ), a short about the mafia, which inspired him to become a director.

After a baccalaureate in electronic engineering, he completed a BTS (Higher National Diploma in Audiovisual Technology) in Reims in 2006 and 2007 (editing and post-production option) with his friend Thomas Koeune (sound option). He felt he wasn't learning anything; the equipment was old, except for editing, which was done on Final Cut (Mac).

Professional career

[edit]

Everyone encourages him to work in Luxembourg[4].He went to work with Thomas at Luxe TV until 2010. There, he discovered corporate life. Versatile and comfortable as an audiovisual technician, he held numerous positions.

It was also in 2010 that he shot the short film "Geste Commercial" (about our relationship with television), featuring a sort of Depardieu in a pasta commercial (the premise of an episode of Slexno). It was released in theaters in 2011 (Caméo Nancy), thanks to the creation of Fensh Toast, to obtain a visa number and enter the competition.

After a sabbatical year, Alexandre began working for RTL 9[5] (in Luxembourg) to occasionally edit film programs. A colleague played him Get Funky by DJ Habstrakt. Alexandre found the music extremely cinematic[6] and decided to make a music video without asking the artist. When the video came out, the DJ was thrilled and shared it. 2012 was also the year Alexandre lost his grandfather Armando Marinelli and he dedicated this video to him[7].This success confirms the team's ambitions. Fensh Toast opens its offices in Nilvange[8].

RTL 9 entrusted him with the creation of film trailers. He acquired a cinematic and technical culture and discovered a real appetite for behind-the-scenes secrets. Due to a lack of financial resources, he also worked as a director and editor for Remedia in 2014. Fensh Toast moved to Metz Bliiida.

Arrival on Youtube and awards

[edit]

The first Nexus VI show, dedicated to science fiction, was broadcast in December 2014[9]. He directs, edits, and stars as Slexno.

In March 2017, he launched his own YouTube channel named after his character in Nexus VI, Slexno.[10]. n December 2016, he moved to Lyon and met Usul. With Fensh Toast, he produced « Ouvrez les guillemets »[11], a Usul program for Mediapart.

He also met Bolchegeek and worked with him as a director in 2018 on the series INApocalypse[12] Filming for the Nexus VI trilogy took place in the summer of 2019[13], in November 2019 (the Captain's Lounge was finally finished) and again in the summer of 2020. It occupied the team for four and a half years

With Case Dép, short film presented as part of the 2021 edition of the Nikon Film Festival, he receives the public prize[14]. It will also be the winner of the Youtube Short Fiction Film Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival in 2022.
