On the morning of February 12, 1970, while the War of Attrition was confined to the front, the Israel Defense Forces carried out an air raid that bombed the Abu Zaabal factory, which had 1,300 workers. Around 80 of them were killed, 150 were injured, and the factory was burned.[1][2]
