Constable Haider Ali (27 September 1997 – 18 July 2025) was a Pakistani police officer in the Punjab Police. He was martyred during a flood rescue operation in Jhelum District, Punjab, Pakistan.[1]
Early life
[edit]Haider Ali was born on 27 September 1997 in Pindi Saidpur, a village in Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil, Jhelum District.[2] Details about his early education and family background are limited in public sources.
Career
[edit]He served as a constable in the Punjab Police (Pakistan), known for his dedication to public safety and emergency response efforts.[1]
Death
[edit]On 18 July 2025, Constable Haider Ali was involved in a rescue operation during flash floods in the Chotala area of Jhelum. While attempting to save stranded civilians, he was swept away by strong floodwaters. His body was recovered after an extensive search. He was buried with full police honors.[2]
National recognition
[edit]Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Constable Haider Ali, stating:
- "Constable Haider Ali laid down his life to save others. His sacrifice is a source of pride for the entire nation."[1]
Legacy
[edit]Ali's death was widely mourned across Pakistan. Media and officials highlighted his courage and the risks faced by first responders.[2]
